Wellness Shot: The Meaning Behind The Year Of The Rat

Every morning around 6:40 I share a little information for you to have an awesome life. I call it a 'Wellness Shot."

I thought it was cool that the Chinese New Year happened a few days ago. You've probably heard that it's the Year of the Rat but what does that mean?

Each year the Chinese calendar has an animal and it rotates through twelve like the zodiac but it's not related to stars. The animal is then paired with an element. This year the rat is paired with metal. The last time the rat was paired with metal was in 1960 and now again in 2020. If you were born in 1960 or will be having a baby in 2020 metal rats are optimistic, energetic, reliable, and live a stable life.

They are also into Motley Crue, Judas Priest, and Black Sabbath because they are "metal rats."

The Chinese New Year finishes with a parade in San Francisco on February 8th! For more information on the Year of the Rat CLICK HERE!
