Popular Bay Area Restuarant Closed After 13 Health Code Violations


Dean's restaurant, a popular Pleasanton diner remains closed almost a month after they failed an inspection by Alameda County Environmental Health Department. In total 13 violations were discovered during a routine inspection back in February. Dean's opened on Main Street in the 1950s and they are located at 620 Main St. Hope to see them reopen and serving up classics soon! 

According to the health department website, the restaurant must comply with the following standards in order to reopen:

  • Food contact surfaces: clean and sanitized
  • No rodents, insects, birds, or animals
  • Food storage food storage containers identified
  • Nonfood-contact surfaces clean
  • Equipment/Utensils - approved installed clean
  • Equipment, utensils and linens: storage and use
  • Adequate ventilation and lighting designated area
  • Wiping cloths: properly used and stored
  • Premises personal/cleaning items vermin-proofing
  • Floors, walls and ceilings: built, maintained, and
  • Signs posted last inspection report available
  • Adequate handwashing facilities supplied & access
  • Proper hot and cold holding temperatures
