According to the FCC there are approximately 100,000 pay phones left on the streets of America. That is a vast difference from the millions that were still around as recently as 2000. About a fifth of America's 100,000 remaining pay phones are located in New York. Despite the decline in pay phones the folks who own them are still making money.
