Former NFL Great Dwight Clark Dies At 61
Former 49ers tight end Dwight Clark, who was part of one of the most iconic moments in NFL history, has died at the age of 61 after a long battle with ALS. Clark will always be remembered for "The Catch", a leaping touchdown grab in the final minute of the 1982 NFC Championship Game vs. Dallas that sent the Niners to their first Super Bowl. Clark was first diagnosed with ALS in 2015. Last year, the 49ers celebrated "Dwight Clark Day" at an October game against - who else? - the Dallas Cowboys.
