Butte County Fire 100% Contained

The Camp Fire, which burned 153,336 acres, 13,954 residences, 514 commercial buildings, and 4,265 other buildings has finally been contained. 

Butte County is asking for Camp Fire evacuees to begin making arrangements to pick up their furry friends who were left at different shelter locations in Butte County. 

The four shelters that animals can be found at include:

  • Oroville: Small Animal Shelter | Old County Hospital, 22279 Del Oro and Mono, Oroville, CA
  • Chico: Small Animal Shelter | Chico Municipal Airport, 150 Airpark Blvd., Chico, CA
  • Richvale: Small Animal Shelter | Humane Society of the United States, 1210 Richvale Highway, Richvale, CA
  • Gridley: Large Animal Shelter | Butte County Fairgrounds, 199 E. Hazel St., Gridley, CA
