Joe Montana Undergoes High Tech Knee Procedure
49ers Hall of Fame legend Joe Montana underwent a high tech procedure in San Jose on Wednesday, teaming up with Stimwave to have a small device implanted into his body to treat his chronic neuropathic pain. Montana's had 25 previous surgeries to address his pain from his NFL days.
Stimwave claims the implant can treat pain by stimulating the peripheral nervous system. The company claims the device can treat shoulder, knee, wrist, elbow, hip pains and more, leaving the patient a pain management plan that doesn't include the exclusive use of opioids.
