Oakland Starts Relief Fund For Renters, Businesses & First Responders

Oakland Mayor Libby Schaff had some good news for Oakland residents and business owners. She announced the beginning of the Oakland Relief Fund. The fund already has $2.5 million in the pot. $200K has been designated to help renters. The money will be distributed through the non-profit Keep Oakland Housed. $250K has been earmarked to help sustain small businesses. A large chunk of the cash will also be used to help first responders who are on the front lines battling coronavirus .
