Bay Area health officials have officially advised that masks be worn when people are headed out in public. The announcement came on Thursday. Folks are being told to cover their nose and mouth with a cloth. That being said, you don't have to use a medical grade N95 mask, in fact health officials recommend that people wear non-medical masks so that the limited supply can go to health care workers.
If you have a bandana, fabric masks or an old t-shirts you can use those to create a mask. Martha Quinn has some great tips on how to make your own mask. San Mateo County Health Officer Dr. Scott Morrow said in a statement. “People with no or mild symptoms may have coronavirus and not know it. Wearing face coverings helps protect others from exposure.”
