Mexico Halts Production Of Corona Beer

The production of Corona beer is being temporarily suspended in Mexico because of the coronavirus pandemic. Currently the Mexican governement classifies the makers of Corona, Pacifico and Modelo as a non-essential business so they will have to stop production unless the government decides to switch their category of business to "agricultural" production. Grupo Modelo, the company behind Corona and other popular beers said that they are ready to enact a plan to "guarantee the supply of beer" if the Mexican government decides to include breweries as essential, according to a statement.
