After 92 Years...Land O' Lakes Butter Switched Up Their Logo

Next time you are in the butter aisle at the supermarket you might notice that Land O' Lakes products have a new look. After 92 years the company has changed their packaging. The dairy product makers swapped out the picture of the Native American woman who has been featured on packaging for a more home grown look. The company is now focusing on celebrating the farmers who help make the products that you enjoy. A spokesperson from the company stated, "The new packaging will show up in a variety of ways, including through a new front-of-package design that features the phrase 'Farmer-Owned.'" The original logo was created and then redesigned in the 1950's by Patrick DesJarlait who is a member of the Red Lake Ojibwe tribe.
