BART announced plans to suspend service between the Lafayette and Rockridge stations through July. The transit agency is going to begin a construction project near the Orinda station that will require the suspension of weekend service between the stations through July. BART will provide a free bus bridge for passengers traveling from Lafayette to Rockridge on the scheduled work weekends and according to BART riders can expect delays of about 20 to 25 minutes. BART plans to start the project on the weekend of May 9 and 10 and continue work on weekends through July 4 and 5. The agency is doing a major upgrade on the tracks which were originally placed in 1973. The agency is also planning a similar project in July near the Hayward stations.
