Carnival Cruises Setting Sail August 1, Cruises $28 a Night

Carnival Cruise line is eager to get back to sailing the open seas. The cruise ship company announced that they would be setting sail again on August 1st. The company said that they will being with eight ships departing from Texas and Florida ports.

"We are taking a measured approach, focusing our return to service on a select number of home ports where we have more significant operations that are easily accessible by car for the majority of our guests," the company said in a press release. Company officials also said that they have been working with "experts, government officials, and stakeholders" to develop a social distancing plan that puts health and safety of all guests and crew members first.

Guests can also take advantage of great rates during this preliminary period. Earlier this week the company was offering five-day cruises from Galveston, to Cozumel, Mexico, in early August starting at $139, plus taxes, fees. That breaks down to roughly $28 per night per person.
