Have you had trouble getting Boba lately?! That's because there's a shortage and people are freaking out about it!
A Boba shortage currently has shops clutching their tapioca pearls since they are becoming not available. Bubble, or Boba Tea originated in Taiwan back in the early 1980's. If you've never had this drink before, it consists of a sweet, syrupy, tapioca pearls shaken with black tea and milk, served cold and come with a wide straw.
This is currently a nationwide problem, they stated "Even though we operate our own factory in the United States, we are reliant on the shipping network to procure the raw tapioca starch that we make our boba with. America is having trouble importing anything from overseas, especially from Asia."
