Wellness Shot: Here's What You Should Do if You Are Hitting the Road

Over 100 million Americans are expected to travel for the year-end holidays this year.

Triple-A is forecasting about 107-point-three-million Americans will travel away from home, the most on record, during the year-end holiday period from December 23rd through January 1st.

While most will be driving to their destination, some will have a tough time getting there thanks to car trouble. Triple-A says traffic is likely to be heaviest on Wednesday and Thursday and it expects to help nearly a million people with roadside problems.

Don’t forget to have your vehicle checked out before taking your trip! Here’s a checklist for you.

Get your battery tested, including the connections. To be safe, have jumper cables in the trunk.

Lockouts are a big problem, so make sure there is an accessible spare key on you at all times!

Get those tires checked and inflated.

Keep your cell phone and charger handy. And keep the phone charged!

Pack a gallon of water, emergency kit, a spare set of warm clothes, and blankets.

If you have an on-board roadside assistance device, keep it charged too.
