If you've had kidney stones before you know how painful they are. The most common causes and risk factors of kidney stones include; 

kidney disease that alters how the body processes calcium

urinary tract infection with certain bacteria

certain dietary habits, such as eating a lot of sodium and not drinking enough fluid

genetic tendency (as kidney stones can run in families)

Here's some tips on how to prevent them;

Drink plenty of water

Get the calcium you need 

Reduce sodium

Limit animal protein
