Metallica's James Hetfield Donates Land to Marin Land Trust

Metallica’s James Hetfield is a generous guy.

He and his wife Francesca have donated one-thousand acres of land in Lucas Valley to the Marin Agricultural Land Trust which will take over the land to provide “open space and recreational opportunities.”

The deal was announced in November and finalized this week. In November, Hetfield said "We believe this is a huge community benefit, and one of our goals is to keep agriculture on the ranch for a very long time."

The frontman has lived in Marin County since the 80’s and he and his wife have donated smaller tracts of land before.
