Tom Petty's Previously Unreleased "Gainesville" Is Here

A previously unheard Tom Petty song is out today that pays tribute to the late singer's hometown. The song, "Gainesville", was recorded during the sessions for Petty's 1999 album Echo and will be part of the upcoming Petty box set An American Treasure. An American Treasure collects unreleased songs and outtakes spanning Petty's entire career.  Heartbreakers guitarist Mike Campbell says he would imagine Petty sitting next to him in the studio and talk to him while sifting through the archives for songs to use.
