We turned the clocks back this weekend as Daylight Saving Time ended, it’s good to be aware that less daylight can affect our mood, even cause winter blues, or Seasonal Affective Disorder.
Tips For Beating Winter Blues
1. Take advantage of the sunlight as much as you can, take walk, even sit by a window that lets natural light in, as much as possible
2. Try to avoid tempting junk food. Studies show sugary and high-carb comfort foods can have a negative effect on our mood.
3. Stay active. Research shows physical activity can beat the blues. An online yoga session can be great, even a simple stretching routine will make you feel amazing. Here’s one that’s all about stretching your neck and shoulders. It’s less than 20 minutes, no pretzel poses, and you’ll be so proud of yourself when you’re done. Plus the dog is cute!
