Van Halen Reunion Will Reportedly Include Michael Anthony

When David Lee Roth sings, "Hey, I heard you missed us, we're back," perhaps those words could be taking on a new meaning for Van Halen fans in the new year.

According to Eddie Trunk, who claims to have heard the rumor from a reliable source, a reunited VH will be touring in 2019 with their original lineup. The California rockers haven't performed together with both Roth and bassist Michael Anthony since 1984. Roth left the band in 1985 and Anthony split in 2004. Earlier this month, Diamond Dave spoke with Vulture, hinting that Van Halen would return, possibly with some stadium and festival dates.

However, Michael Anthony is denying this rumor. Perhaps the original Van Halen lineup isn't getting together after all. Despite the rumor that he would be included in a 2019 reunion tour, Michael Anthony says it isn't true. Not only has the bassist not played with his former bandmates in 14 years, but he also hasn't spoken to them since then either. "The only comment I have is that I haven't spoken to any of the guys since we last played together back in 2004," Anthony admits, but adds that he did exchange some small talk with drummer Alex Van Halen over the phone a while back. Van Halen last played as their original lineup with singer David Lee Roth in 1984.
