Wellness Shot: How To Help Someone With A Panic Attack

Have you ever felt like you were having a panic attack?? This happened to me the other day as I was feeding my dogs. I all of a sudden got this overwhelming feeling of panic. So I found this article from WebMD that explains what to do when someone around you is having a panic attack.

What happens to the panicker is that they get a racing heart, nausea, feelings of faint. You can feel out of control or feel an impending sense of doom. If you are around someone that this is happening to just remember C.A.P.S.

Calm-Put your hand on their should to signal a calm presence

Assurance-Assure them you will be by their side until it passes

Presence-Be present

Silence-Be calm and quiet to help them
