Wellness Shot: The One Word You Should Keep Out Of Emails

The word I’ve been deleting from all my emails!

I’ve become noticed there’s one word I use a lot, that makes me seem like a weaker, smaller version of myself. Here’s a typical email, can you spot the word?

“Hi Frank Can you get me the estimate numbers? I just need to get started on my invoice.”

That “Just” in their signals, don’t take me seriously, hope you’re not mad, I really want you to like me!

This would be more confident: Hi Frank I need to get started on my invoice. Need the numbers asap. Thanks bro!

Eliminating the ‘just’ gives your emails a self-assured tone.

You can use ‘just’ when you’re using it to mean “immediately prior to this,” for example I just got Frank’s numbers.

Do you use ‘just’ frequently in your emails? Try taking it out, see how you feel!
