Thanks to soon to be restored video, David Bowie fans could be in for a real treat. Long thought to be erased, the first TV performance of Ziggy Stardust has been uncovered. Captured on a home recording, Bowie unveiled the persona on British channel ITV a month before his legendary Top of the Pops appearance in 1972. The tape had started to degrade, so experts are in the process of "baking" it with the hopes of bringing the footage to the screen again. If all goes well, the BBC will air the show inside a documentary next month, which Francis Whately, producer, and director of David Bowie: Finding Fame calls, "something of a Holy Grail".
