'Lord Of The Rings' director Peter Jackson has signed on to make a new Beatles movie, using previously unreleased footage from the Let It Be sessions. Jackson will be pulling from more than 55 hours of footage shot in January of 1969, for what he says will be "the ultimate fly-on-the-wall experience". Jackson says even though the band would break up just 18 months later, the sessions are "funny, uplifting, and surprisingly intimate" with "none of the discord" associated with the end of the Beatles. Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Yoko Ono, and George Harrison's wife Olivia have all given their approval to the as-yet-untitled project.
