Sacramento Planning To Rename Park After Levar Burton

According to the Sacramento Bee, Sacramento is planning to rename a city park after Levar Burton. The 'Reading Rainbow' host was born in Germany but moved to California at age 3. Levar grew up in Sacramento with his two siblings and attended Christian Brothers High School. The parl includes an amphitheater, picnic area, playground and basketball courts.

"He's always been proud of his Sacramento roots and he continues to use his career and his influence to be a strong advocate for literacy for children," said Brianna Moland, an assistant planner for the city to the Bee.Check out Levar's reaction below! Photo Credit: Getty Images
