Did you ever have that situation where you have a really bad headache and the only pain medicine you find in your house is expired?? I've had that issue quite a few times so I wondered what's the deal with the expiration dates on medicine bottles? The expiration date on a drug is the result of law that says drug companies must give a date up to which the manufacturer can still guarantee the full potency and safety of whatever the drug is. However, the military conducted a study on old unused medicine and they found 90% of over 100 drugs were perfectly good. Even 15 years after it's expiration date. There are a few medicines that DID NOT test well.
