Metallica Sets New Attendance Record They might not have known it at the time, but fans attending Metallica's show in Wichita on Monday were part of a history-making event. Intrust Bank Arena, which hosted the veteran group, reports 15,600 people were in attendance for the sold-out show. That's the highest number of people that have packed into the downtown facility in the nine years it's been standing. Prior to Monday's performance, it had been 15 years since Metallic visited Wichita.
