Steph & Ayesha Curry have launched a new scholarship for girls in the San Francisco Bay Area. The Steph & Ayesha Curry Family Foundation stems from 9-year-old Riley Morrison from Napa who asked Curry why his Under Armour sneaker line didn't included sizes for girls. In honor of Riley and International Women's Day, Steph launched a purple Curry 6 sneaker which was designed by Morrison.
The new scholarship fund will benefit young women in the Bay Area interested in pursuing careers and college tracks within the STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) fields.
The first recipient of the scholarship is Vivian Wu who is a senior at Oakland Tech with a 4.2 GPA and over 300 hours of community service.
