Wellness Shot: Foods That Lower Cholesterol

A friend of mine was recently told that he has high cholesterol and it got me thinking about foods that can help lower his cholesterol. You or somebody you know might be in the same situation. You don't want high cholesterol because it clogs your arteries making it harder for your heart to push your blood through your body.

Here are some foods that can help lower your cholesterol;

  1. Walnuts have healthy unsaturated fats that can help lower your LDL (bad cholesterol). Almonds, Pistachios, and Hazelnuts are also good choices.
  2. Beans-Beans have soluble fiber which helps flush cholesterol out of your system
  3. Oats-Oats has the same benefits as beans
  4. Avocado- You can use this instead of mayo. Avocados can also help lower bad cholesterol.

Physical activity can also lower your cholesterol!
