Wellness Shot: How To Find & Remove Ticks On Your Dog

This morning for your daily dose of health, I want to shout out something for your healthy dog!

It takes a tick anywhere from 3-to-24 hours of feeding to infect your dog but if you know how to remove a tick this will lower your chances of you or your dog getting sick. You want to get the tick off your dog as soon as possible. Whenever your dog has been out in grassy wooded areas take the time to check through their fur. Check between their toes with your fingers. A tick can be as tiny as a pin head or as big as a grape.

If you find a tick, use tweezers to grab the tick as close as possible to your dogs skin and pull up in one continuous motion. You don't want to break the tick. Check out the graphic below for the correct way to grab the tick!
