Joining countless other musicians who have found second careers in the alcohol business, Bob Dylan has announced the pre-release of a limited edition whiskey from his soon-to-be-open Heaven's Door Spirits.
Heaven's Door 10-Year Tennessee Straight Bourbon is described as "a full-bodied bourbon that's mellowed with sugar maple, finished in white oak barrels and corked at 100 proof." The bottle comes in a commemorative box that's inscribed with the lyrics to "Maggie's Farm" and "Subterranean Homesick Blues." It sells for $130 a bottle.
While that price might seem a little steep, it's nothing in comparison to a soon-to-be released 25-year-old whiskey from the company. It will be finished in casks made of Japanese Mizunara Oak, one of the costliest woods in the world. A fifth will cost $500.
