List Of School Closures Due To Fires & Outages


Due to the recent fires and power outages there are several schools closed across the bay area. Here is the list we have so far

All Santa Rosa City Schools Closed (Monday)

Sonoma County Public Schools (Monday & Tuesday)

Dominican University

Sonoma State University

Santa Rosa Junior College

Daytime classes at UC Berkeley have been cancelled because of limited power

Cal Maritime Academy in Vallejo

6 Oakland Unified Schools will be closed Monday 10/28. The rest of OUSD's schools will be open. The 16 closed schoools are:

Carl Munck; Chabot; Claremont; Community Day School (6-12); Grass Valley; Hillcrest; Howard; Joaquin Miller; Kaiser; Montclair; Montera; Redwood Heights; Rudsdale Continuation School; Skyline; Sojourner Truth; and Thornhill. At this time, we believe all schools will be open on Tuesday.

The following school districts in Marin County will be closed until further notice:

Marin Public Schools (all are closed except Bayside MLK Academy)

Mill Valley School District

Reed Union School District

Tamalpais High School District

Novato Unified School District

Pacifica School District

Ross Valley School District

Charter Schools

These charter schools will be closed on Monday and Tuesday.

San Francisco will open a temporary disaster shelter to help those who have been displaced. The shelter will be located at St. Mary’s Cathedral on Gough Street.

 It can help 200 people and will open at 8:00 a.m. on Monday. The shelter will be open to serve adults, families, and pets. No documentation required.
