Wellness Shot: Cyber Monday Scams To Watch For

If you plan on scoring some Cyber monday deals, check out these quick tips to avoid getting scammed!

  1. Only give payment info when the web address starts with https. Think of that S as meaning SECURE, or look for a padlock in the browser.
  2. Avoid shopping while sipping a latte at Starbucks. Public wifi networks may expose your personal and banking information to scammers.
  3. Beware of US Postal Service “package delivery” emails saying, “To ensure the package is meant for you, please provide the following personal information.” Scammers use that information to open credit accounts in your name. U.S. Postal Service says it does not call or email you and ask for personal information if there is a problem with a delivery.
