Wellness Shot: How To Stay Safe When It's Cold & Wet

The cooler temperatures are here. Here's some tips to stay safe this rainy, cold season:

  1. Do not drive into flooded areas.
  2. In case the power goes out you want to have on hand ways to stay warm like extra blankets; sleeping bags; warm winter coats; a gas or log fireplace; maybe a portable space heater but put it at least 3 feet or more from anything that may catch on fire.
  3. Stay hydrated! In winter, people feel less thirsty, San Francisco Department of Public Health says we should drink 6 – 8 glasses of liquid a day, in cold weather.
  4. If you see someone in need of shelter, please call 3-1-1
