It may have cost them $10 million, but buying back their master recordings from the label was the best decision Mötley Crüe ever made, according to their manager.
Despite advice advising the contrary, the move allowed them to cash in on the success of their Netflix biopic, The Dirt, which got the ball rolling on their upcoming reunion tour.
"It takes courage to give up eight figures. It takes courage to try new things," admits Allen Kovac to Fox Business, who notes how the group has been thrust back into the global mainstream.
Following the release of The Dirt, Crüe's fan base shifted younger from the 45-58 age group to the 18-45 group and streaming of their music jumped 350 percent.
