1. Pick a past situation where you were able to successfully change your long-term behavior, perhaps you quit smoking. Use that experience!
2. Write down anything you learned from that past situation. You might write: it was really hard, but I got through it and feel much better
3. Create a brief written plan for applying those lessons to your new habit. Idea: When I’m jogging and want to stop I’ll do one more minute
