Wellness Shot: Should You Ice Or Heat An Injury


According to the Southern California Orthopedic Institute: 

If you have had a recent injury where swelling is a problem, you should be using ice. Applying an ice pack early and often for the first 48 hours will help minimize swelling, which will help to control the pain.
