Wellness Shot: Getting Your Groceries Safely

How is your shelter in place life going? To me, the weakest link in my coronavirus germ security is grocery shopping.

According to experts, coronavirus can live on cardboard for 24 hours and plastic & metal for up to 72 hours. What I do when I get home is take everything out of their packages and put them in separate containers.

Good Morning America shared tips from an infectious disease specialist from Columbia University and here's what Dr. Angela Rasmuseen recommends:

  1. Go to the grocery stores as little as you possibly can and go when it's not so crowded.
  2. When you get to the store wipe down the card handle and use hand sanitizer.
  3. Use the self checkout aisle if you can.
