Wellness Shot: Easter Safety Tips For Pets

Easter is on Sunday and here are some great tips to keep your pets safe during the holiday:

1) Keep chocolate away from your pets. Chocolate has a stimulant called theobromine, similar to caffeine, If enough is ingested it can be toxic to dogs and cats.

2) If you have Easter Lilies, be aware they are incredibly dangerous to cats. The lily toxins can cause vomiting, loss of appetite, even seizures! The pet health insurance company Trupanion says flowers like roses, snapdragons, sunflowers, or zinnias are safe for cats.

3) Heads up the Easter Bunny will try to get jellybeans and treats to your house, but might decide to leave a note this year like the tooth fairy does. Know what I mean Mom and Dad wink wink? After all it’s a challenge for the Easter Bunny to find a mask to wear to the store!

Whatever you do this weekend make sure to maintain physical distance but emotional connections, wash your hands a ton, and keep blasting uplifting 80s music!
