Former Journey frontman Steve Perry is opening up about the infamous "guacamole" story that re-emerged following the death of Eddie Van Halen.
As the story goes, while Journey and Van Halen were on tour together in 1978, Eddie got so frustrated with with bandmate David Lee Roth that he threw a bowl of guacamole on him. The guac missed David and ended up hitting Perry, covering his favorite satin jacket. Allegedly, the incident made Perry so upset that he started crying.
Steve is clarifying the story and says "he wouldn't cry over guacamole." Steve then has nothing but good things to say about touring with Van Halen and his memories of Eddie.
