Today, November 22, marks 20th anniversary of the shocking death of INXS charismatic frontman Michael Hutchence. This photo was taken 7 years before he died, in 1990. I had just started my radio career at now-defunct KWOD 106.5 in Sacramento and INXS was in town to do a show promoting their new album "X." The whole band was super cool and invited some of us from the radio station backstage to hang out for a bit. We did the meet and greet with them and chatted for a few moments. Michael was really cool, had an great sense of humor - he had me crackin' up at the way he sounded saying "word to ya mutha' in his Australian accent. That's why I'm smiling so big in the photo, I was actually still laughing at him! This was the only time I ever met Michael but the impression he made on all of us that day was a very good one. Glad I have this photo with him. R.I.P Michael Hutchence.
