Eddie Money is scheduled to undergo heart surgery this week, but if doctors had it their way, the procedure would have already taken place.
The rocker recently complained of shortness of breath, leading medical officials to recommend a heart-valve procedure. But Money didn’t want to disappoint fans by canceling his previously scheduled performances, so he went forward with the concerts over Memorial Day weekend, even though he continued to experience shortness of breath.
With the rocker's obligations now concluded, the surgery will take place later this week, during a break in his touring schedule. The minimally invasive procedure should allow Money to be back on the road by mid-June.
