Sophie Turner Says She's "So Down" to Play Boy George in Biopic

Sophie Turner, Boy George

Following the end of Game of Thrones, Sophie Tuner has been keeping herself very busy. She appeared in Dark Phoenix, got married to Joe Jonas in Las Vegas and is getting ready for a second ceremony in Europe. But her next move? Maybe playing Boy George in an upcoming biopic about his life?

During a recent radio interview in Australia, the Culture Club frontman revealed that Turner had come up as a "suggestion" for a potential actor to play him in the forthcoming film, and it sounds like he's on board with the idea! He said, "There's been some really interesting suggestions. One of the most interesting suggestions was Sophie Turner. [People will say] 'she can’t play you she's a woman,' you know. But when I was 17, I would have loved to have been her."

After British Vogue had shared the news, Sophie retweeted with the response, "I'm SO down" while also tagging Boy George.

The new biopic was originally announced last month (in May) and follows several music biopics like Rocketman and Bohemian Rhapsody. Boy George's biopic will be written and directed by Sacha Gervasi (who directed My Dinner With Hervé and Hitchcock) and will show the singer's life from childhood in southeast London through his pop stardom in the 80s and 90s.

In a statement to Deadline, Gervasi shared of Boy George and the upcoming yet-to-be-titled movie, "In the London clubs of the '80s, George was impossible to miss and everyone knew he would be a star long before the world had ever heard a note of Culture Club’s iconic songs." He added, "I'm both honored and excited to be the one to guide it onto the big screen."

No release date or further details have been released yet, but it sounds like they have a solid prospect in casting!
